Hi! I'm Chris, am male and middle-aged. I've recently moved to London in the UK (though still do shift work in the north of England; it's complicated) and I run Exit Games UK, a weblog with a focus on the UK and Ireland which discusses exit/room escape games, puzzle hunts, puzzle competitions and much more. I'm fortunate enough to have experience of all three, though more experience in puzzle competitions than anything else. I'm fascinated by room escape games as a remarkably successful manifestation of puzzle activity in the general public consciousness, admire what they have to offer already and look forward to what they have to offer in the future. Many thanks to Essa for setting this forum up! It might take a while to get going, but we're in this for the long haul, and it'll be an excellent place to focus the sorts of discussions that are better suited to forums than to weblogs.

Hey Chris, Welcome to the forums! Also I recommend visiting Exit Games UK too, brilliant website with a specific focus on exit games in the United Kingdom. I'll admit to reading the website at least a few times a week due to the daily updates. Feels like I'm reading a exit game newspaper sometimes because its so well written. Lots of first person experiences included as well. Agree, I think it's going to take a while to get this forum moving along a bit more and gather some members to start talking. Every project needs a beginning. Essa

Greetings from Malaysia! Playing room escape games has become my hobby. Up to date, I have played over 50 rooms in my country. Trying to review all the rooms I played without giving away any details that can spoil the fun. Hope to experience rooms from other countries in the future. Looking forward to the growing community of this new forum. ^^

Hi Dscry, Woah, you have attempted 50 room escapes in Malaysia? That's incredible! Do you have a site where you review all the room escapes you have played so far? Leave us a link in the forum so we can visit it. Thanks for joining the forums and welcome! Essa

Thank you! It is on a blog. Here is the link: enigmaticescape.blogspot.com/. Actually, the reviews are way behind schedule. Playing too many games with too little time to review them. Don't know if the reviews we (one of my escape team member and I) made is good but we have posted up to 20 rooms. Still have over 30 rooms pending. We will be updating as fast as we can. Pardon all the grammar mistakes if any. ><

Knew there were quite a few room escape places in Malaysia but didn't know there was up to 50 of them. That's quite amazing and will also visit your blog.

Ahoi! Shaun here from Germany. Middle aged, male, and still playing games! ;-) I run a Escape room location in Germany and also am trying to set up a location map for European sites. I have around 100 locations mapped so far and have as yet not even started with Hungary and eastern Europe so lots to do still. Thanks to ESSA for setting up this forum, Happy escaping!

Hey Shaun, welcome to the forums! Kind of curious - what's the website of your escape room location? Perhaps another place to add to my list and Escape Room Directory too.

Thank you. My first escape, wich i liked more than others, it was at room called "Mirror Mirror" where i and my team had to do everything on turnover (codes, kyes, items, text everythink shoud be done exactly on turnover ) but we complete about 80% so the first time we fail. The others rooms were easier.
Hi doaroomescape) thank you, ya its an awesome feeling to be a game master and whatching how people playing.

Nikolaos, what is "turnover" ? It's interesting to see the differences between escape rooms in the U.S. and overseas.
