The Imitation Game, is a new movie about code breaking and the people who created the Enigma machine in World War II is currently hosting a cryptography competition here: www.maths.manchester.ac.uk/cryptography_competition_the_imitation_game/index.php?loc=thecodesEntry is only open to UK residents and the competition closes on the 28th November 2014. ---- Even though not everyone can enter the competition, I thought it would be a good challenge for anyone who wants to practice solving codes. As a result I have saved the pictures of the codes to be cracked for anyone who wishes to have a look now or later on in the future. The Puzzle: The following documents were found among Alan Turing's personal effects. Your task is to decipher the three coded messages, each providing a clue to the location of the buried silver. Once you know the clues, use them to determine the square on the map in which the silver is hidden. Code OneCode TwoCode Three

G repeats alone, GR repeats, SNM repeats, ETC.

Congratulations on the solve escapistto as they are challenging puzzles! Please hold onto the rest of your answers for a while though (at least until the 29th of September) if it's okay with you? I worry about someone seeing the completed answers here and then just entering the competition with no effort put into it.
